“I Spy” Teacher will play a game with students
Teacher will identify things in the classroom using hints
Students will recognize and identify the item
Ex: “I Spy it is brown, has eight tentacles and is our school’s mascot”
Teacher will try to limit to 15 items depending if students are enjoying game

Retell with students the story of Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

Activity:
Invite students to name the characters in the story and them on the white board in a graph
Cut up squares with matching colors of animals should be ready
Ask students to pick a color square of their favorite animal. Have them write their names and place on the graph in the appropriate section

Prepare set of 3 by 3 inch squares (11) – tagboards
Have children draw an animal from the book then write number on the back
(correspondence with story)
Punch a hole at the top of each square and have students string their pictures on yarn in order; use beads to make necklace attractive
Tie the yarn to secure
Students will enjoy their story by retelling to their family
