Basic Rules & Regulations
School Year 2004-2005
1. No child may ever be used to render personal services for a teacher. For example, a child may not be sent to the canteen or the cafeteria to buy food for a teacher.
2. No person may ever clock in or out for another person. Only the timekeeper and the administrator may handle variations in time and schedule.
3. Avoid physical punishment of children at all times. Physical force may be used only to the extent absolutely essential for restraint in the face of danger. Corporal punishment must never be used.
4. Personnel may not leave the campus during preparation periods without consent from the principal or person in charge. You have to log out every time you leave the campus during working hours.
5. A class may not be left uncovered and unsupervised in the course of the school day. Emergencies can be handled by contacting the office or the teacher next door.
6. Money that has been collected should not be left in the classrooms, since the school does not take responsibility for its loss.
7. The use of the school telephones for other that school business is strictly forbidden. Personal calls should be kept to a minimum.
8. Children should not be placed outside as a disciplinary measure without supervision.
9. No child is to be denied lunch without authorization.
10. No child may be sent home during the course of the day without office authorization. No parent may pick up a child from class without office authorization.
11. Parent teacher conferences must not be held on class time unless arranged through the office to provide coverage for the class.
12. No visitors should be entertained unless they have an office pass.
13. A teacher without the written directions and prescription by the parent and the doctor shall not administer any medication to a student.
14. No instructional machine or equipment may ever be removed or borrowed from school without permission or consent from the principal.
15. No child should be kept in school beyond 2:45pm without the consent of the parent.
16. Personal property of pupils may not be taken without providing opportunity for retrieval by the parents.
17. Funds may not be solicited from children without authorization from the administrator.
18. Pupil injuries and untoward incident must be reported to the office and documented. Accident reports must be filed and communicated to parents.
19. A teacher may administer no drug or medicine without a written communication to the principal with specific instructions from the health care provider.
20. Teachers should lock the door.
BOOK CARE AGREEMENT
Dear Parents and Guardians:
This agreement form is prepared to establish a team building working relationship between the students, parents and teachers. It is important that the student and parent and the teacher help each other in building a sense of responsibility for care, dedication and interest to increase the level of learning and trust.

INTERNET USE POLICY
The inappropriate use of the computer equipment and software, or violation of the Use Policy rules listed below may result in the loss of Internet and other classroom technology privileges.
USE POLICY RULES:
1. Use of San Antonio Elem. School’s Internet access shall be for the exchange of information in order to enhance your education and to do research on academic topics.
2. Do not use bad language, or send messages that would be offensive to another person or violate the law.
3. At all times, follow San Antonio Elem. School’s standards. Ask yourself: is it safe? Is it kind? Is it legal?
4. At all times, respect the privacy of other Internet users.
5. Never give out personal information such as your home address, telephone number, parent’s work address or phone number, or name and location of the school without permission of your parents/guardians AND teacher.
6. Report to your parents/guardians or teacher any message, or information you come across that makes you feel uncomfortable, or feel is inappropriate.
7. Use your own software. It is against the law to copy other people’s software unless it is stated as shareware, freeware, or marked in the public domain.
8. You are prohibited from international access to inappropriate websites for children under 18, as stated by your classroom teacher, Board of Education, or U.S. Common Law.
9. Vandalism and harassment will result in the loss of privileges.
a. Vandalism is defined as any malicious attempt to harm, modify, and destroy data of another user, Internet or other networks.
b. Harassment is defined as the persistent annoyance of another user, or interference with another user’s work. Harassment includes but is not limited to, the sending of unwanted mail.
